Overview
Liar’s Dice is a game of bluffing and probability. Every player rolls five dice and keeps them hidden, then players take turns making ever-bolder claims about how many dice of a given face are on the table — across everyone’s hands, not just their own. Sooner or later a claim goes too far, and the next player calls the bidder a liar. Lose a challenge and you lose a die; the last player still holding dice wins.
Goal
Each player begins with five dice. Lose challenges and you lose dice one at a time; the last player still holding at least one die wins the game.
Bidding
- A bid claims that at least a stated quantity of dice across all hands show a chosen face — for example, ‘four fives’.
- Ones are wild and count toward every face.
- To raise, you must increase the quantity, or keep the quantity the same and increase the face.
Calling liar
Instead of raising, you may challenge the current bid by calling liar. All hands are revealed and the claimed dice are counted. If at least that many matching dice exist, the challenger was wrong and loses a die; if not, the bidder was bluffing and loses a die instead.
New rounds
After each challenge, the losing player drops one die permanently. The surviving dice are rerolled, the old bid is cleared, and a fresh round of bidding begins with fewer dice in play — which makes later bids easier to judge.
Strategy and tips
Base your bids on your own hand plus a reasonable guess about the hidden dice: on average about a sixth of all the dice, plus the wild ones, show any given face. Small, believable raises keep you safe, while a sudden large jump is a classic bluff that invites a call. Watch how many dice remain overall — as the table shrinks, exaggerated bids get much riskier.
Controls
Use the − and + buttons to set the quantity, choose a face, then tap Raise. Quick-bid chips offer legal shortcuts. Tap Call Liar when you believe the current bid is too high to be true.
