Overview
Bridge Connect is a two-player abstract strategy game about building a path across the board before your opponent builds theirs. The board holds two interlocking grids of coloured posts, and each player tries to join their own two sides with a continuous chain of bridges. It is quick to learn but deep, because on this shared board every bridge you place also gets in your opponent’s way. Play against a standard, Medium or Hard computer, or a friend in local pass-and-play.
How to play
One player connects the top of the board to the bottom, and the other connects left to right. On your turn you drop a single bridge onto an empty slot to join two of your posts, either horizontally or vertically. Keep extending your chain, turn by turn, until it forms one unbroken route linking your two sides — that wins the game.
Every move builds and blocks
The clever part is that bridges never cross, and because both colours share the same slots, placing your bridge also denies that slot to your opponent. Every move therefore does two jobs at once: it advances your own connection and blocks a link your opponent might have wanted. Strong play means finding bridges that build your route while cutting off theirs.
Strategy and tips
Do not simply rush the shortest straight line; the direct path is the easiest for an opponent to block. Build with a little width so you have more than one way to complete the connection. Watch your opponent’s chain as closely as your own, and when their route is nearly finished, spend a move to sever it. Against the Hard AI, which searches ahead for the shortest connection, plan several bridges in advance.
Controls
Tap an empty slot between two of your posts to place a bridge there. Use the menu to choose your difficulty — standard, Medium, or Hard — or Local Pass & Play for two people on one device, and to change the board theme or restart.
