Honeywood
Build a woodland kingdom across a 24-region hex board. Buy land, improve your holdings, collect rent and manage a changing economy.
Overview
Honeywood is a property-strategy board game played on a 24-region board. You roll to move, buy regions, upgrade them, and collect rent from opponents who land on your land. The first player to 1,000 Harmony Points wins.
Modes are Play vs AI at Easy, Medium or Hard, and Player vs Player as a pass-and-play match on one device. Games can be saved and resumed.
A turn
- Roll the dice and draw the turn's event card.
- Your token moves to a new region.
- Buy it if unowned, upgrade it if yours, or pay rent to its owner.
- End the turn.
The event deck holds 12 cards. Completing a lap of the board pays a bonus of 500 coins, adjusted by the current inflation multiplier.
Regions and upgrades
Buying an unowned region costs its inflated price and awards 3 Harmony Points. Owned regions upgrade through four levels, each raising rent and paying Harmony Points on the spot:
- Level 1 → 2 — 40 coins, rent ×1.5, +6 HP
- Level 2 → 3 — 80 coins, rent ×2.5, +12 HP
- Level 3 → 4 — 120 coins, rent ×4.0, +20 HP
Those costs are base values before inflation. Collecting rent also pays the owner Harmony Points by level: +1 at level 1, +2 at level 2, +3 at level 3 and +5 at level 4, so an upgraded region earns twice over — more coins and more points every time someone lands on it.
Seasons, years and inflation
The season advances every 5 turns through Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, making a 20-turn year. Annual inflation raises prices, income and rent as the game goes on, and the lap bonus scales with it.
The King's Tax
From turn 30 onward the crown takes a cut of every rent payment: 10% of the rent is deducted from what the owner receives.
The owner is partly compensated in points rather than coins — they gain Harmony Points worth 10% of the tax taken. Late in a match, rent therefore converts less into cash and slightly more into the thing that actually wins the game.
The King's Bank
Loans are available at 40% annual interest, with total debt across all loans capped at 1,000 coins.
A rent bill you cannot cover is borrowed against automatically, secured on your cheapest property rather than the one you landed on. If borrowing still cannot cover it, properties are sold off to settle the debt.
Winning
There are two ways to win. Reach 1,000 Harmony Points, or be the player still standing when an opponent goes bankrupt.
The second route is recorded as a win for the survivor even if they are behind on points — bankruptcy ends the match regardless of who was leading.
Controls
Tap to roll; the dice, event card and rent overlays appear in sequence and are dismissed by tapping. Purchase and upgrade options appear when you land on an eligible region. Coins, Harmony Points, the current season, year and turn number are displayed throughout.
