Overview
Kono is a traditional Korean board game of pure racing and blocking, with no captures at all. Each player has seven pieces, and the goal is to march them all across the board and onto the squares the opponent started from. Because nothing is ever taken, victory is a subtle contest of space and timing rather than force — a quick, clean game that is easy to learn but tricky to master. Move all seven of your pieces onto the squares your opponent began on. Tap one of your pieces to select it, then tap a highlighted square; pieces move one square diagonally into an empty square. There are no captures — Kono is purely a race to swap starting positions.Winning and tactics
The first player to occupy all of the opponent’s home squares wins. Because nothing is ever captured, space is everything: parking a piece beside an opponent’s route can slow them down, while leaving your own pieces scattered wastes tempo you cannot afford in a race.Strategy and tips
Move with purpose — every step should bring a piece closer to its target square or get in the opponent’s way. Keep your pieces coordinated rather than strung out, and look for squares where a single piece can block two of your opponent’s lanes at once. Count the moves each side needs to finish; if you are behind, prioritise blocking over advancing.Controls
Tap one of your pieces to select it, then tap a highlighted diagonal square to move. Use the menu to choose your difficulty or Local Pass & Play, to change piece themes, or to restart.
