Spider Solitaire

Build complete same-suit runs from King to Ace and clear all eight sequences from the table.

Overview
Spider is the most popular two-deck solitaire in the world, and for good reason: it scales from a gentle one-suit warm-up to a fiendish four-suit test that can absorb a whole coffee break. It is played across ten tableau columns with two full decks — 104 cards — and the aim is to build cards downward by rank and assemble complete King-to-Ace runs of a single suit, each of which is cleared from the table the moment you finish it. Assembling all eight suits is the classic Spider triumph. What makes it so enduring is the tension between short-term tidying and long-term planning: a move that looks helpful now can bury a card you need later, and the stock deals a fresh row onto every column whether you are ready or not. Beginners can treat the one-suit game almost like a puzzle, while the four-suit version is regarded as one of the toughest solitaires to win consistently — a genuine test of foresight and patience.
About Spider

Spider uses two decks across ten tableau columns. Complete eight King-to-Ace sequences to win.

How to play
  • Build downward by rank, regardless of suit.
  • Only a same-suit descending run moves together.
  • Any card or valid run may fill an empty column.
  • A complete same-suit King-to-Ace run is removed automatically.
Stock rules

Tap the stock to deal one card to every column. You cannot deal while any column is empty, so fill empty spaces first.

Difficulty modes
  • 1 Suit: the most approachable mode.
  • 2 Suits: balanced difficulty and the default.
  • 4 Suits: the full classic challenge.
Strategy tips
  • Prefer same-suit builds whenever possible.
  • Create empty columns to reorganize longer runs.
  • Expose hidden cards before dealing another row.
