Overview
Bunco is a fast, luck-driven party dice game played over six rounds. In each round there is a ‘target’ number — ones in round one, twos in round two, and so on up to sixes in round six — and you roll three dice again and again, scoring whenever they match the target. Roll all three as the target number and you make a ‘Bunco’ for a big 21-point bonus. The highest total after six rounds wins.
Goal
Play six rounds against the computer and finish with the highest total score. The target number changes each round: ones in round one, twos in round two, through to sixes in round six.
Scoring
- Each die matching the current round’s target number scores 1 point.
- Three matching target dice make a Bunco and score 21 points.
- Three of a kind that are not the target number score 5 points.
Taking a turn
- Tap Roll to throw all three dice.
- If the roll scores anything, you keep the points and roll again.
- If the roll scores zero, your turn ends and the computer plays.
- A Bunco ends the current round immediately.
Rounds and winner
Each round’s points are added to your total when the round ends. After the sixth round, the player with the greater total wins the match. Because a Bunco ends the round on the spot, it can also cut off an opponent who was scoring well.
Tips
Bunco is almost pure chance, which is part of its charm — you keep rolling automatically for as long as each roll scores, and your turn ends only on a scoreless roll, so there is no banking decision to agonise over. The fun is in the streaks and in chasing the 21-point Bunco, which both scores big and slams the round shut.
Controls
Tap the large Roll button whenever it is your turn. The player panels show the active player, the current round’s points, and each accumulated total.
