Rummymates

Play Rummymates free online — 13-card Indian Rummy for two players. Form valid sequences and sets, include a pure sequence, and declare a full hand before your opponent. No download or sign-up.

Overview

Rummymates is 13-card Indian Rummy. You arrange all thirteen cards in your hand into valid sequences and sets and declare before your opponents.

Two modes are available: 2 players against one AI opponent, or 4 players against three. Both use two full decks plus two printed jokers, 106 cards in total, dealt 13 to each player.

The turn

Draw exactly one card — from the closed deck or the top of the discard pile — then discard one card. Your hand is 13 cards at the start and end of every turn.

Sequences

A sequence is three or more consecutive cards of the same suit. Aces count at both ends: A-2-3 and Q-K-A are both valid.

A pure sequence uses no joker substitution. An impure sequence uses a printed joker or a wild-rank card in place of a missing card.

A natural card keeps a sequence pure even when its rank is the round's wild joker. A real 5♥-6♥-7♥ is pure whether or not 7 is wild that round.

Sets

A set is three or four cards of the same rank in different suits.

Because two decks are in play, duplicate cards occur. Duplicate suits do not form a valid set: 4♦-4♦-4♥ is invalid.

Jokers

One random rank is chosen as the wild joker each round; all four suits of that rank act as jokers. The two printed jokers in the deck also act as jokers.

If the card turned up to select the wild rank is itself a printed joker, Aces become the wild rank for that round.

Valid declaration

All of the following must hold:

  • All 13 cards covered by valid melds, with no loose cards.
  • At least two sequences.
  • At least one sequence pure.
  • Every set made of different suits.

Valid 13-card layouts include 3+3+3+4, 4+3+3+3, 4+4+5, or all sequences. One pure sequence with three sets is not valid, because it contains only one sequence. Two sequences with an uncovered card is not valid either.

Melds are framed by type as you arrange them: green for pure sequences, gold for impure sequences, blue for sets.

Scoring

A valid declaration scores 0. Each other player scores their unmatched cards, capped at 80 points for the round.

  • Jokers — 0
  • Ace — 1
  • Number cards — face value
  • Jack, Queen, King — 10 each

Scores accumulate across rounds and the lowest total is best. An invalid declaration is rejected rather than penalised and adds no points.

Controls

Tap the closed deck or the discard pile to draw, then arrange your cards into groups; melds are detected and framed automatically. To declare, select the card you want to discard and tap Declare — the game validates the whole hand. The round's wild rank is displayed during play.
