Russian Solitaire

Master a demanding Yukon-style game where tableau sequences must be built down in the same suit.

Overview
Russian Solitaire is Yukon turned up to its hardest setting. All 52 cards start on the table in seven columns with no stock to fall back on, and — unlike Yukon — you must build tableau sequences down in the same suit rather than in alternating colours. That single change removes most of your escape routes, making Russian one of the toughest solitaires to solve and a real test for experienced players.
About Russian Solitaire

Russian Solitaire is a tougher cousin of Yukon. All 52 cards begin in seven tableau columns and there is no stock, so every move depends on carefully reorganising the cards already in play.

Goal

Move every card to the four foundations, building each suit upward from Ace through King.

Tableau rules
  • Build downward by suit: for example, the 7 of Hearts can only go on the 8 of Hearts.
  • Any face-up card may move with every card below it, even if that group is not ordered.
  • Only a King, alone or leading a group, may fill an empty column.
  • A newly exposed face-down card turns face up automatically.
How to play
  • Drag a playable card or group onto a valid tableau card.
  • Move exposed cards to their matching foundations when available.
  • Tap a card for an automatic move when there is one clear destination.
  • Use Undo to restore earlier moves, or New Game for a fresh deal.
Strategy
  • Prioritise exposing face-down cards and opening useful same-suit links.
  • Preserve access to Kings before creating empty columns.
  • Plan several moves ahead—the same-suit restriction leaves fewer recovery options than Yukon.
Frequently asked questions
Is Russian Solitaire free to play? Yes — free in your browser, no sign-up. How is it harder than Yukon? You must build down in the same suit, not alternating colours, which sharply limits your moves. Is there a stock? No — every card is on the table from the deal. What fills an empty column? Only a King, alone or leading a group.
