Overview

5-3-2, or Paanch Teen Do (पाँच तीन दो), is a three-player trick-taking card game. You play against two AI opponents.

Each round has ten tricks and the three players hold different targets: the round leader must win 5, the next player 3, the last 2. The targets total exactly the ten tricks available.

The deck

30 cards, unevenly stripped:

• Hearts and Spades — 7 through Ace, eight cards each
• Clubs and Diamonds — 8 through Ace, seven cards each

Thirty cards across three players is ten each, giving the ten tricks. Aces are high.

Deal and trump

The first fifteen cards are dealt as an opening hand of five cards each. The round leader then names trump from those five cards. The remaining five cards per player are dealt afterwards.

Trick rules

The leader opens the first trick.

1. You must follow the led suit if you hold it.
2. If you cannot follow, you may play any card, including trump.
3. The highest trump wins the trick.
4. If no trump is played, the highest card of the led suit wins.
5. The winner of a trick leads the next.

Scoring

At the end of a round each player's score changes by tricks won minus their target. Meeting the target exactly scores 0, one trick short scores −1, one trick over scores +1. There is no penalty for exceeding a target — extra tricks add points.

Because the three targets sum to the ten tricks available, the three round scores always sum to zero.

Match length

A match is three rounds. The leader position advances one seat after each round, so across a match every player names trump once and holds each of the three targets once.

Scores accumulate across the three rounds and the highest total wins.

Controls

When you are the leader, select a suit from your opening five cards to set trump. On your turn, tap a card to play it; the game enforces following suit. Each seat's target, current trick count and running match score are displayed during play, and the round summary shows every player's tricks minus target.
