Card Golf

Play nine rounds of Card Golf against computer opponents. Reveal and replace cards, cancel matching columns, and finish the match with the lowest total score.

About the game

Card Golf turns a deck of cards into a low-score challenge. Your cards form a small grid and every card left in that grid contributes to your score.

Choose a 4-card, 6-card, or 8-card game. Every match lasts nine rounds, with scores carried forward until the final winner is decided.

How to play
  1. Begin the round by revealing two cards from your grid.
  2. Draw from the face-down stock or take the top face-up discard.
  3. Replace one card in your grid, or discard a card drawn from the stock.
  4. Keep improving your grid until it is fully revealed or somebody knocks.
  5. After nine rounds, the player with the lowest combined score wins.
Card values and scoring
  • Joker: -2 points; King: 0; Ace: 1.
  • Number cards score their face value; Jacks and Queens score 10.
  • Equal-ranked cards in the same column cancel the entire column to 0. Jokers do not form matching pairs.
Knocking and round end

When your visible score looks strong, knock before drawing. Every other player then receives one final turn before all remaining cards are revealed and scored.

The round also ends when a player reveals their entire grid.

Tips and strategy
  • A matching column can be worth more than two individually low cards.
  • Watch the discard pile to judge which ranks opponents may be collecting.
  • Keep negative Jokers and zero-point Kings unless a column match is better.
  • Before knocking, consider how many hidden cards remain around the table.
